Here at St. Paul Hickory Grove, we offer weekly Sunday School classes for preschool through high school, Vacation Bible School, monthly Youth Group meetings for middle- and high-school students, a summer Mission Trip for high school students, and a special Christmas Eve service led by the youth of our congregation.
Our high school youth mentor the younger children and also assist with worship services. Pictured below are Youth Group members escorting older members of the congregation out of the sanctuary on Senior Recognition Sunday, which takes place in early September.
Sunday School
During the school year, youth and adult Sunday School classes are held from 9 to 10 a.m. During the summer, elementary youth attend Sunday School classes after the Children’s Sermon. We also have opportunities for the children to participate in handbell or vocal choir during the year.
Vacation Bible School
This year’s theme is “Stellar,” and classes are scheduled for June 3 to 6. VBS combines classroom time, crafts, snacks, and outdoor activities to help children grow in their faith.
Youth Group
Middle- and high-school students meet on the second Wednesday of the month at 7 p.m. for Bible study, games, activities, and snacks. Youth Group members host the Thanksgiving Eve Service and coordinate Operation Christmas Child gift gathering and box packing.
WIF4C Mission Trip
Walking in Faith for Christ (WIF4C) are service opportunities out of the area for high-school youth from our church and surrounding churches to help with home-repair and improvement projects for less-fortunate members of the community, along with chances to meet other young Christians from other parts of the country. After the trip is completed, the group shares with their congregations what they learned on the trip.
Other ways to serve
The younger members of our congregation assist with collecting the offering, passing out bulletins before the service, and helping with congregational service projects such as our annual church cleanup, and our school kit and personal care kit assembly.
